Synopsis: Tradewind Social Care are currently recruiting for an experienced Business Support Officer for the Adult Mental Health Team (AMHP) in East London.

To provide a professional, proactive, customer focussed business administrative service to the organisation (function-based)

Roles at this level will be responsible for the following examples of complex co-ordination, decision making and management of sensitive data across the Business Support service.

Main duties:

  • Business Support for the AMPH (Approved Mental Health Team) - NHS NELFT
  • Contacting the police either by phone or e-mail, arranging for duty AMHP to attend either home visit or in hospital
  • Arranging payments for duty Doctor in attendance and submitting to accounts for clearance
  • Typing up reports, letters and ensuring duty diary entries are in order for monthly data reviews
  • Booking interpreters as required for clinical appointments and meetings
  • Deal with telephone and face to face enquiries received from service clients, members of the public and other staff members, responding to these or redirecting to another team member as required
  • Accurately input clinical data which may include outcome of attendance and making arrangements for onward referral
  • Issue standard agenda for team meetings and prepares and issues action notes arising as directed. Undertake any necessary follow up action as directed
  • Providing information and advice to patients and others on NHS complaints and feedback arrangements. Responding directly to straightforward enquiries or refers matter for consideration by clinical staff/service managers

Essential Skills & Experience needed:

  • Experience of working in the local authority
  • Experience of working in an AMHP service
  • Excellent knowledge and application of IT systems and software packages

Ability to work with minimum supervision, using problem solving skills and initiative to provide a customer focussed support service
