Assistant Youth Offending Team Worker

We have a fab new opportunity for an experienced Assistant Youth Offending Team Worker to join their Young Offending Service within the Northampton area.

Working to prevent offending by children and young people, whilst helping to resolve offences for victims and protecting the public.

The responsibilities of an Assistant Youth Offending Team Worker includes:

  • Working across the county and in partnership with the Police, PaDs aims to assess and address the issues for young people whose behaviour has not reached the threshold for involvement of the criminal Courts
  • To be part of our newest development, the Prevention and Diversion scheme (PaDs) and working across the county and in partnership with the Police, PaDs aims to assess and address the issues for young people whose behaviour has not reached the threshold for involvement of the criminal Courts
  • To provide information, advice and guidance to designated young people on a wide range of issues that may be affecting their lives
  • Work directly with a caseload of referred clients to provide time limited structured support in order to meet identified needs, increase engagement with mainstream services and prevent problems escalating
  • Produce evidence that the young people being supported are making progress in relation to their needs and desired outcomes because of their contact with the service
  • Actively and effectively record and maintaining records on the services management information systems

Requirements of an Assistant Youth Offending Team Worker:

  • Have some experience of working with children and young people, the ability to engage positively with them, their parents/carers, the victims of their offences and colleagues in other agencies
  • An enhanced DBS that is of satisfactory level is essential
  • Educated to at least A level standard
  • You will complete assessments, deliver interventions, signpost to other services, and broker arrangements to ensure that, wherever possible, restorative justice processes have been used for the benefit of all parties, and the young person has access to the services required to meet their needs in the future

Salary: Up to £20.00 p/h, based on experience
