Synopsis: Tradewind Social Care are currently recruiting for an experienced Business Support Officer to join Hackney Councils children's services.

Main Duties:

  • To co-ordinate and deliver support for training events, seminars, forums and support any meetings required by a project
  • To co-ordinate and minute fostering and adoption panels (or any other meetings as required), and administrate any related correspondence
  • To manage discreet projects and tasks ensuring deadlines are met, and outcomes achieved
  • To be responsible for the collation and analysis of information and production of draft reports on service activity
  • To undertake research and special projects and prepare briefings as requested e.g. research on complaints, consultation with service users
  • To quality check information for decision-making panels in relation to individual children's cases
  • To provide information and advice to a wide range of people regarding service initiatives and development opportunities, including professionals within the Children and Young People's Services Directorate and across agencies, members of the public, and representatives of outside organisations, ensuring all enquires are dealt with to a high standard
  • To maintain and apply knowledge of current legislation in relation to children and best practice quality assurance and professional development
  • To prioritise and be able to work on one's own initiative and progress plans within agreed time scales and deadlines
  • To provide project support, including administrative support, to large scale initiatives which are managed by senior officers
  • To develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff within the Children & Families Service, and our key partner agencies
  • To be the first point of contact for enquiries relating to complaints, quality assurance and professional development
  • To use necessary IT hardware and software to meet the requirements of the job, and to undertake training and courses as agreed with the line manager.

Essential Skills & Experience needed:

  • RECENT experience in Children's Services for a local authority
  • Experience of minute taking in a Children's Services context
  • The successful candidate will likely to be involved in minute taking and administration tasks related to panels
  • The successful candidate will have strong administration skills and able to work within a team, but will also have the initiative to work on own
