Business Analyst

The successful candidate is to provide a flexible and responsive business analysis service to support tri-borough strategic objectives, core projects and operational service delivery.

Main Duties:

  • To support effective information reporting across the tri-borough services through data extraction and analysis
  • Collate, validate and submit data for statutory returns across the service including the administration of statutory surveys
  • To use a range of analysis techniques to meet the needs of commissioned analysis projects including service reconfigurations, service reviews and deep-dive investigations, modelling, cost benefit analysis etc

  • Support Delivery Units on quality assurance and data quality processes and continuous improvement activities
  • To develop outcome frameworks to effectively monitor service delivery and outcomes
  • To present complex research and analysis findings effectively to internal and external audiences, using written reports, presentations and online channels as appropriate, ensuring that approach and tone of information is appropriate to the audience
  • To contribute to the development of improvement/action plans to address areas of performance that are declining in relative or overall terms
  • To provide advice to colleagues on best practice performance monitoring, analysis and the development of tailored information to support service improvement
  • Contribute to the development of qualitative data sources, and their collection and analysis including local surveys, consultations and interviews
  • Assist in the development and deployment of new and existing systems to ensure they meet current and future business needs

Essential Skills and Experience Needed:

  • Evidence of the ability to use and apply wide range of analytical methods such as business process analysis, cost benefit analysis, service evaluation and mitigation planning
  • Experience of using data reporting tool such as Business Objects XI
  • Ability to interrogate, analyse and develop databases to produce a range of management information to meet changing needs
  • Ability to produce and interpret a range of statistical information both qualitative and quantitative to draw conclusions and make recommendations to the business based on analysis
  • Produce reports/presentations that convey complex messages while meeting the needs of a range of different audiences
  • Ability to produce and interpret complex information under pressure and to tight deadlines

Job Requirements:
Must have a minimum of 2 years continuous experience within the same or similar capacity
Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in statistical or management information related discipline
Good ICT skills, in particular typing/Word
Must have experience in using MS Office to an intermediate standard
