We have a great new opportunity for an experienced Careline24 Officer to join their Independent Living Service within South London.

Provide a high quality responsive 24 hours emergency service to all customers. To undertake all duties in accordance with Council procedures and to provide advice and information to callers and service users in a courteous, efficient and professional manner ensuring a seamless service of the highest standards is maintained at all times.

The responsibilities of a Careline24 Officer includes:

  • To respond to all incoming calls to the Careline Central Control, assessing the nature of the calls, prioritising level of urgency and responding accordingly
  • To conduct interviews over the telephone to establish homeless priority need and any special housing needs of applicants, giving appropriate advice and assistance in order to prevent homelessness and to access day service for long term solution during normal working hours
  • To receive referrals from night Duty Social Worker and to secure temporary accommodation for DSS customers as requested including in the event of major emergencies
  • To log any placements onto the housing register database system and interrogate the system for information relevant to temporary accommodation
  • To visit clients in their home and carryout equipment installations and terminations including programming of a range of Careline equipment and smart sensors where trained
  • To record and maintain accurate records and logs of all activities pertinent to the service provided and in line with relevant procedures

Requirements of a Careline24 Officer:

  • Knowledge of the provision of social alarms services to vulnerable people in sheltered housing, Housing Association and in the community
  • Knowledge of statutory duties related to homelessness provision
  • Minimum of 1 year experience of working with older persons in a Housing, Care or Health setting
  • Must give accurate and up-to-date advice, providing clarity about the customer's current status and options for moving things forward
  • An enhanced DBS that is of satisfactory level is essential

Salary: Up to £21.85 p/h, based on experience
