Tradewind Social Care are currently recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker for the Family Solutions Team in Oxfordshire.

To work in Family Solutions Team with children subject to child protection, child in need and Care Proceedings.

Main duties:

  • To work with children for whom assessment has indicated the need for a serv This will include children subject to child protection enquiries and child protection plans; children looked after by the local authority and subject to care proceedings, and children in need
  • To ensure that services are planned and delivered in a way that maximises participation and reflects Children's Rights in relation to services being provided; to act on views of children and young people and demonstrate that Children's Rights are reflected in the work with children and young people
  • This post holder is responsible for ensuring that all County Safeguarding and Child Protection policies are adhered to and concerns are raised in accordance with these policies
  • To be the allocated worker for child/children in need or subject to child protection plans as identified by assessment, and for children looked after and subject to care proceedings
  • To work with children and their families in order to prevent children from needing to be looked after
  • To assess and plan for children when there is a need for them to be looked after short term
  • To deliver services which are sensitive to the needs of children, young people and families, to the highest professional standards
  • To provide ongoing timely assessment, planning, implementation and review for allocated cases, working in partnership with children, young people and families, and partner agencies
  • To undertake effective analysis and management of risk for allocated children, under the supervision of the team manager

Essential Skills & Experience needed:

  • Has worked with children and families (includes in a related field such as a student or volunteer)
  • Has work experience of child protection work
  • Has experience of work with children who are looked after by the Local Authority
  • Social Work qualification e.g. Degree in Social Work; DipSW or equivalent.
  • Be registered with Social Work England (SWE)
  • Clear enhanced DBS check
