A great opportunity has arisen for Social Worker to join their Children's Assessment and Safeguarding Team within the Hampshire area.

You will work with families when there is a need for a Child and Family Assessment after information is gathered by the multi-agency safeguarding hub (MASH). You will also make a Child in Need, Child Protection or Child Looked After assessment, and work to effect change and enable the families to build their resilience and wherever possible, remain together.

The responsibilities of a CAST Social Worker includes:

  • To ensure that all correspondence and written notes detailing the outcomes and decisions from meetings with children/young people and parents/carers are distributed promptly
  • To take responsibility for ensuring that all work undertaken in connection with assessment, planning, monitoring and review functions are undertaken in an efficient and effective manner which demonstrates a positive impact and outcome for children, young people and their families
  • To undertake assessments of children in need in accordance with the National Assessment Framework and Working Together
  • To put the needs of children at the forefront of all assessments, plans and activities
  • To ensure all children have a clear plan to promote their development, wellbeing and to protect them from harm
  • To strive to achieve and maintain best practice standards in all aspects of the work undertaken and exercise sound professional judgements at all times

Requirements of a CAST Social Worker:

  • HCPC registered
  • 2 years recent experience working within Frontline Children's Services
  • Experience of undertaking complex social work assessment and practice, which take fully into consideration the child/young person's background and lifestyle choices
  • Ability to communicate effectively on complex issues, both person to person and in writing, with young people, their carers, colleagues and statutory and voluntary agencies and build effective professional relationships

Salary: Up to £28.26 p/h, based on experience
