Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Registered Manager for a Children's home in Bromley.

The candidate is needed to Manage and set up a medium sized residential home for young people (male and female) aged 8 to 18 years old. The home homes consists of 3 separate terraced houses, in London/Kent border. Our clinet specialises in providing medium to long term care and are experienced working with Autism, ADHD and Epilepsy.

Our clients well established home and skilled staff create an environment where the individual needs of children are met to enhance their opportunities, health and wellbeing with the aim of them gaining the skills to maximise their development and lead successful and productive lives.

They provide continuity of care; particularly for those young people who may be experiencing being 'looked after' for the first time; or who may need stabilising before a foster placement or a return home is planned. They have strong links in the local community and will endeavour to encourage all young people to join local clubs and motivate them to take up activities that match their abilities and interests.

Main duties:

  • To manage the residential care team and have responsibility for the residential unit, ensuring a highquality service is developed and performed within the organisational policies and procedures, the National Minimum Standards and the legislative framework pertaining to children and young people. Safeguarding children and vulnerable people is a priority for all employees
  • The Registered Manager will be expected to work flexibly including weekends, evenings and on occasion, the young people's holidays, as well as attending meetings, staff meetings, supervision, annual appraisals, training, and young people's reviews. To be responsible for the day-to-day management of all operational services within the designated service area by ensuring the provision of a 24 hour, 7 day service which is capable of responding as required to requests for service out of office hours

Skills and experience:

  • 2+ years' experience of working as a Registerd Manager or as a strong Deputy Manager with children's services
  • Knowledge and working experience of Ofsted reulations and legislation and know how to get a home Ofsted ready
  • NVQ Level 5 with the willigness to study towards if qualification not obtained
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the updae service
