A great opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Team Manager to join their Children's Services within Central London.

Provide line management and casework supervision to qualified social work staff linked to the multi-agency teams.

The responsibilities of a Deputy Team Manager includes:

  • Build effective and creative working relationships with key partners, developing greater integration of service processes, pathways and delivery
  • Make evidence based and child focussed decisions to safeguard and support children and their families, demonstrating an advanced understanding and knowledge of disability issues based on local and national publications, research, legislation and policy
  • Ensure the participation and inclusion of disabled children and young people and their carers during decision making, promoting consultation and involvement and supporting staff to do so also
  • Attend meetings as required, including Team Around The Child, child protection case conferences and core group meetings, undertaking the role of Chair where appropriate
  • To take responsibility for quality assurance of social work practice, including in-service and across agency auditing, meeting key performance indicators, responding to complaints

Requirements of a Deputy Team Manager:

  • HCPC registered
  • 2 years recent experience of managing and delivering services in a multi-cultural and diverse urban authority/borough where there are significant deprivation issues
  • An enhanced DBS that is of satisfactory level is essential
  • Considerable experience of statutory child care social work (including child protection, risk assessment and making plans to safeguard children, court work and provision of services to looked after children
  • Ability to form appropriate professional relationships and boundaries with children, young people and families

Salary: Up to £23.34 p/h, based on experience
