The post-holder will be a key member of the CARP team, delivering services to families of children who have chronic absence from education, and are identified as being in need of support as part of the Chronic Absence Reduction Project initiative. This team will also contribute towards fulfilling the objectives of the Transforming Families Programme and the Education Welfare Service and act as part of the Early Help Offer.
Main Duties:

To hold a caseload and deliver intensive support to families with children who have chronic school attendance. Case duration will be around 6-9 months

To work alongside the family on providing support on a complexity of issues which may be related to chronic school attendance such as worklessness, accessing adult services for substance misuse and mental healthetc

To work with Education Welfare Officers to deliver support to specific schools with high incidence of chronic non attendees to improve attendance.

To work/liaise with the Transforming Families (TF) and Education Welfare Service (EWS) teams to build effective working relationships to improve school attendance

In partnership with families and other agencies, to undertake comprehensive assessments that will inform the development of individual family contracts to improve school attendance

To act as a lone worker and complete assessments and home vists in the family home.
Job Requirements:
Ability to communicate effectively and present complex information, including clear and concise reports to senior managers and partnership groups.
Ability to communicate effectively with both adults and young people
Ability to develop and sustain effective partnership working with other professionals, services and agencies including working collaboratively with partners in needs assessment, service planning and delivery.
