Tradewind Social Care has an exciting opportunity for a Contact Supervisor to join the Children and Families Service within Derbyshire County Council.


· Arranging and Supervising of contact

· To assist in the assessment process

· To commission services both internally and externally

· To undertake complete holistic assessments of service user needs on less complex cases, to include a range of outcomes

· Arranging/providing transport for/or acting as escort to clients

· Disseminating information to clients (eg facilities available in the community and/or provided by the Department)

· Assisting Social Workers and others in the implementation of assessment, intervention and care plans

· Liaison with voluntary bodies and other services, agencies or groups working in the area, as appropriate

· Serving on ad hoc bodies/working parties etc

· Recording of all work undertaken and the preparation of reports/ assessments

· Assisting or running group and community projects in the area, as appropriate

· To undertake such training as is required

· To maintain confidentiality and observe data protection guidelines

· To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibility of the post

· You will also be required during the course of your duties to comply with Council policies as follows: Environmental Equal Opportunities Health and Safety No Smoking

· Providing services to all client groups if required, including the more routine statutory visiting of children in care.

· To be involved, jointly with the Service Manager, in reviewing work and caseload at regular intervals, including the closure and transfer of cases

· To undertake complete holistic assessments of service user needs on less complex cases, to include a range of outcomes including community and residential services, in whatever service user group

· To undertake reviews of service users and their care plans.


  • NVQ III Care or equivalent
  • An understanding of child development
  • Awareness of need to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • An understanding of the needs of children and their families
  • Direct experience of work with children in social, educational or health care setting
