We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an Experienced Social Worker to join a Children in Need Team based in Suffolk County Council.

The main purpose of this role will be to use professional knowledge to assess, monitor and review social care needs of individuals, relatives and carers within a specific care group in accordance with agreed competencies, quality standards and professional good practice in relation to case and risk management.

Main Duties:

To use professional skills, knowledge, and experience and a range of interpersonal and specialist communication skills to gather information and make a full assessment of risks protection and social care needs of individuals and carers/families

Devise individual care plans based on assessed needs and risks that take account of diversity to maintain and improve their quality of life

Identify appropriate service provision which is within the Department's resource framework and adhere to Best Value Principals

Manage an agreed case load in accordance with statutory and Departmental procedures and objectives, and professional good practice

Monitor, review and reassess care packages/services against identified risks, needs, and objectives to ensure the continued effectiveness in achieving required or wanted outcomes

Produce reports as required which comply with statutory and Departmental procedures and capture and analyse information clearly and guide decision making and case management

Preparing and presenting reports for case conferences, reviews, legal proceedings, planning meetings, finance panel etc. to inform decisions

Attending meetings with other agencies in order to agree, negotiate and review service provision for individuals and as a representative of the Departments on multidisciplinary working groups

Essential Skills & experience needed:

Able to write clearly and concisely and have experience of report writing

Experience of working with children and families in social work setting

Knowledge of Child Protection legislation and understanding of child protection issues and substitute care

High level knowledge of child care legislation including the Children Act 1989, Every Child Matters, Change for Children and associated guidance and regulations

Job Requirements:

An enhanced DBS that is of satisfactory level is essential
Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience working within Front Line/Child Protection Services

Must be Social Work qualified with a valid HCPC registration
