Fostering Project Coordinator - Northampton

We are looking for a Qualified Social Worker to take on a 12 month ongoing contract to work on a new project in Northampton.

The service has received funding which has allowed a new and innovative approach to be developed to support foster children and their families sustain their placements. This, in turn, has given the service access to funding for innovative therapeutic interventions that will hopefully protect against placement breakdown and deliver positive outcomes for health, the fostering service.

This is a fast paced and busy role that will require the successful Social Worker to strive to deliver positive outcomes for our children and families in collaboration with our colleagues in the Strategy & Commissioning team, plus our external partners.

The Role

To be a central coordinator for the Fostering Public Health project within the Fostering service, leading on the development and delivery of the identified project strands.

To oversee and implement the programme of interventions identified in support of the focused cohort of 5-12 year olds.

To act as consultant and to work to expand the knowledge of the Fostering Team and CIC regarding evidence-based therapeutic interventions and principles, leaving lasting resources by project end and contributing to the sustainability of the project for the future.

To support social workers in upskilling their knowledge and use of therapeutic models in their professional support of children and families.

To help identify and develop existing specialisms and expertise within staff teams, to expand the range of interventions and support available.

Alongside the Commissioning (Brokerage) teams, to build a framework of quality therapeutic providers and engage with these and internal teams to strengthen links and expertise.

Requirements

- Qualified Social Worker

- Significant experience in fostering

- SW England Registered
