Interim Head of Service, Customer Services, Libraries and Archives

The successful candidate will have

  • experience of leading strategically within a large organisation, across a varied portfolio
  • a track record in building, managing and motivating teams through challenging circumstances to achieve results. You will assume responsibility for three Service managers
  • experience in a local authority would be useful but not essential as we are keen to consider candidates with transferable skills
  • strong customer focussed outlook is essential, and the ability to manage project delivery through internal and external stakeholders
  • ability to engage with and influence key stakeholders including members, leaders and team members and trade unions is key.
  • experience of managing change including the impact of this change on employees and communities
  • Continuing to develop and deliver operational plans and processes to deliver agreed service outcomes and plans.
  • Working with Service Managers to effectively identify and allocate budgets and resources to optimise services and facilitate change and transformation.
  • Progress the collaborative work across the Council and with the Council's partners to champion innovation within allocated services to secure the best outcomes and value for money for our citizens and customers.
