Tradewind Social Care are currently recruiting for an experienced Commissioning Manager within Adult's Services in London.

Main Duties:

  • To develop innovative joint commissioning approaches for the health, social care and wellbeing of older people and those with complex needs
  • To lead on transformation of commissioning for a portfolio of services for adults including home care, re-enablement and rehabilitation, development of the dementia pathway and Better Care Fund programmes of work, on behalf of Clinical Commissioning Group, focusing on improving health and social care outcomes, rather than on maintaining current service arrangements
  • To create a much stronger emphasis on prevention and early action as well as deeper integration across health and adult social care, and wider council services
  • To work closely with teams outside of the Partnership Commissioning Team, particularly Continuing Care, Quality and Performance and Adult Social Care
  • To deliver a transformation in the way that we commission services for older people and those with complex needs by joining commissioning budgets and contracting arrangements to bring about system-wide improvement, placing ever greater emphasis on the outcomes achieved in addition to the quantity of activity delivered
  • To build and strengthen strategic relationships so that commissioning priorities for older people and those with complex needs are agreed by the Council and CCG and delivered by the Partnership Commissioning Team through commissioning services that are consistent with the strategic intentions of the Five Year Forward View for Health and Social Care 2016-2021, Vision for Adult Social Care and the Ethical Care Charter, as well as with Southwark's status as a World Health Organisation Age-friendly borough

Essential Skills & Experience needed:

  • Exceptional verbal and non-verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with and influence a wide range of stake holders at all levels both internally and externally
  • An understanding of existing and pending legislation, (e.g. NHS long term plan, Adult Social Care green paper) issues and financial challenges facing local government and health organisations, specifically issues relating to older people and complex needs
  • Substantial experience of dealing with a wide range of stake-holders, influencing and negotiating to achieve common objectives
  • Highly developed analytical and interpretation skills, including the ability to work with complex data sets, enabling judgements on a range of frequently highly complex and often conflicting facts and circumstances

Job Requirements:

  • The post holder should be qualified to Master's degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent achievement through experience
  • Hold a relevant professional qualification and/or membership of a relevant professional body
  • Demonstrate evidence of continued professional, managerial and personal development within the relevant discipline
