Tradewind Social Care are currently recruiting for an experienced Practice Lead to work within the Youth Offending Service in Enfield.

The Practice Leader is responsible for ensuring that the case management of youth offending work within a geographical area of the City is undertaken to a good standard and that workers are supported and supervised to achieve this through reflective practice and collaborative assessment and planning.

Main Duties:

Acting as duty lead within the Youth Offending Service, including providing out of hours evening, weekend/bank holiday cover on a rota basis.

Direct responsibility for a team of social work qualified and non social work

qualified staff working within a specific work area, including health staff, holding statutory and non statutory responsibilities.

Allocation of the resources and overall responsibility for the performance and operation of the work unit.

To target effort and resources to enable young people to remain within their family, reduce their substance misuse, prevent offending behaviours and strengthen and develop protective factors.

To take responsibility for implementing standards and priorities, undertaking audits and contributing to the planning and review of targets and systems

To implement the Directorate's recording and supervision policy and maintain quality standards.

To have overall responsibility for the effective management of the unit and be responsible for allocating and prioritising work to staff and taking appropriate decisions on unallocated work, child protection concerns, high risk offending and assessment activity in accordance with the needs, objectives and priorities of the work unit.

Essential skills and abilities:

Substantial practice in a front line fieldwork team to include youth offending and child protection.

A commitment to continuing professional development with evidence of post qualifying training.

Experience of taking a lead role that has led to development or change within the service.

Experience of assessing diverse service user needs in a risk management framework to allocate work appropriately.

Ability to maintain a healthy, safe and productive working environment.

Ability to recruit, select, motivate, lead and develop a team of people to achieve operational objectives.

Job Requirements:

A minimum of three years practice in a front line fieldwork team to include youth offending or child protection.

All applicants need to be social work qualified with current HCPC registration.

An enhanced DBS that is of satisfactory level is essential.
