We have a great new opportunity for an experienced Practice Manager to join their Fostering and Adoption Service within Lancashire.

To support planning and review, and safeguarding and active support across all children services care groups, co-ordinate and integrate team activities, including overseeing joint delivery of multi-agency arrangements, anticipating and responding to change that will impact upon service delivery.

The responsibilities of a Practice Manager includes:

  • Deliver a children's care service as outlined in national legislation and guidance and in line with county policies and procedures
  • Line manage front line staff and other agency staff and other professionals as designated, being responsible for the operation and application of all HR recruitment and employment requirements and supervision and appraisal for allocated staff
  • Manage a reduced workload of complex cases requiring a high degree of professional expertise
  • Ensure a high standard of professional practice is maintained across the service through personal example, coaching, mentoring and consultation
  • Ensure the provision and continuing development of high quality assessments, care planning care proceedings and reviews for individuals and ensure that high quality care plans with identified outcomes are drawn up involving children young people and their families/ carers

Requirements of a Practice Manager:

  • HCPC registered
  • 2 years recent experience of complex assessment work, children with disabilities, child protection of care planning and reviewing quality of services and outcomes for children young people and their families
  • Experience of setting priorities and managing competing workload priorities
  • Clear understanding of the role of children's social work in the context of the current children and young people's services agenda
  • An enhanced DBS that is of satisfactory level is essential

Salary: Up to £23.03 p/h, based on experience
