Tradewind Social Care are currently seeking a Registered Manager for a Children's Home based in St Helen's.

Purpose of the Post

To ensure we achieve the best positive outcomes for children living in the Children's Home by the effective and professional management of all aspects of the home, both internally with the staff team and externally by high quality working relationships with field social work and other key partners.

Ensure that the standards in the home are high and that the service continues to develop and incorporate new regulations, practice standards and innovations.

To work with the national regulator, OFSTED, to achieve successful inspection outcomes.

To ensure effective financial management in the home.

Duties and Responsibilities

Effectively scrutinise and make decisions in relation to referrals to the home, assessing and matching children to the home appropriately.

Ensure that the children in the home receive high quality, holistic care which meets their needs and promotes aspiration and positive outcomes for them.

Ensure any risks relating to children in the home are well understood and effectively manages to reduce risk and safeguard and protect children.

Ensure that the Child's Voice is heard and responded to in all aspects of life in the home.

Work in partnership with allocated social workers and partner agencies to implement effective care plans for the children we look after.

Requirements

Knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance and Quality Standards

Knowledge of OFSTED inspection framework for Children's Homes

Up to date knowledge of child and adolescent care, theory and practice

Ability to use technology to record, store and retrieve information

Ability to communicate clearly (oral and written) and to work in partnership with service users, colleagues and other agencies

Effective leadership, including business management skills and financial expertise

Chairing and advocacy skills.

At least two years' experience of working at a senior level in a children's residential setting.

At least 3 years' experience of working with children and families in the last 5 years.

Experience of working with vulnerable and complex young people within a statutory setting

Experience of management in a children's social care setting
