Tradewind Social Care Recruitment are currently recruiting for Residential Support Workers supporting young people for a setting in London.
Main duties:
- To assist in providing a stimulating environment which gives care, control and nurture appropriate to safeguarding and promoting the emotional and physical wellbeing of the young people
- To provide excellent role models for young people through reflective and consistent care, supporting
- The team ethos, which is caring, supportive, non-judgmental, providing a powerful advocate for young people to promote their rights and their voice.
- To work as a shift coordinator, planning the actions required and keeping an overview of the needs of the young people on a shift
- To undertake sleeping-in and shift duties, including working weekends, and Bank Holidays
- To assist in the provision of a stable and nurturing environment to promote and safeguard the young
people's welfare and promote their health and development, taking account of their culture, race, religion, disability, gender and sexual orientation
- To communicate effectively with the young people and ensure that young people are appropriately
involved in decisions about their care and living arrangements ensuring that their voices, wishes and
feelings are central to their support plans, care plans and overall culture of the home
- To set appropriate boundaries and provide the level of supervision necessary to ensure that the young people are protected and their welfare promoted
- To take referrals and admit young people to the home, helping them to settle in, and paying attention
to their immediate needs
- To undertake Keyworker responsibilities and tasks with individual young people and their families. To
develop with others a support plan of their needs following a period of assessment and undertake tasks identified to ensure the support plan continues to meets their needs
- To undertake specific tasks to develop a partnership with families, other carers, professionals and
agencies, to contribute to the care plan for each young person
