Synopsis: Tradewind Social Care are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior IDVA for our client in North London.

To deliver excellent services to Jewish women affected by domestic abuse and to oversee the advocacy work undertaken by the team.

Main duties:

  • Hold a caseload of up to 15 high risk cases
  • Provide support and advice to survivors of domestic abuse including crisis intervention, risk assessment, safety planning, exploring options and completing exit feedback
  • Ensure cases are referred to MARAC, MASH and Adult Safeguarding promptly where appropriate
  • Advocate on behalf of clients with external agencies where appropriate including at MARAC meetings
  • To ensure the team works to internal and external quality mark standards
  • Line manage the IDVAs/DAPAs and Client Support Workers, including regular supervision and support and yearly appraisals
  • Participate in the collection of data where appropriate and to support the Client Services Manager in ensuring the accurate and timely reporting on key performance indicators
  • Assist in the quality assurance of external referrals to MARAC, MASH & Safeguarding as well as grants and supporting letters
  • Act as a resource and support to the team
  • Represent the team at relevant key meetings and forums
  • Participate in an out of hours emergency on call rota
  • Contribute to service user voice and participation in service delivery and development
  • Attend regular team meetings (and deputise when necessary) ensuring that you contribute to effective working practice and communication
  • Provide support, training and development for new and existing staff and volunteers
  • Carry out other tasks as reasonably required to help the team to deliver its goals
  • Proactively promote equality and diversity in all your work with service users
  • Ensure that the service user is at the heart of all service delivery and development
  • Attend all meetings and training relevant to your role

Essential Skills & Experience needed:

  • Demonstrable experience of working with women affected by domestic violence and abuse
  • Experience of managing own case load, working under pressure and prioritising workload
  • Experience of risk assessment & management and safety planning
  • Experience of multi-agency partnership working including MARAC
  • Experience of providing support, training and guidance to staff or volunteers
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Jewish community in Britain/demonstrable interest in learning about issues affecting Jewish clients
