Safeguarding partnership Contextual safeguarding co-ordinator - Slough


To co-ordinate partners deliver of the exploitation strategy during COVID 19 lockdown and afterwards, providing professional subject matter expertise and project management support to the safeguarding partnerships in Slough. This will involve providing immediate support to the Multi agency child exploitation group (MACE) and supporting partners to understand local risks and take remedial action to mitigate them. It also involves working with individual partner agencies and groups to develop and continually improve our agreed multi-agency strategy, action plan and performance indicators and deliver on the impact of COVID 19. The post will work with other subject matter experts in Slough, Berkshire and nationally to enhance local understanding of the challenges. The post will support the delivery of immediate imperatives and enable the partnership to forecast, share intelligence, and support operational arrangements to prevent criminal exploitation. The post will work closely with the Safer Slough Partnership on their contribution to crime reduction in relation to exploitation.


  1. To work as a member of the safeguarding partnership team, supporting the Safeguarding Partners in Slough.
  2. To support the safeguarding partnership to develop its work on tackling exploitation of children and vulnerable adults in Slough at operation, tactical and strategic levels, and supporting the MACE group do deliver.
  3. To review the SLG strategy on exploitation to incorporate lessons learned during COVID 19 and producing a sound multi-agency action plan and data set, through partnership consensus.
  4. To support the safeguarding partnership learning and development manager, and where appropriate, deliver and co-deliver multi-agency safeguarding training and awareness raising in relation to exploitation and contextual safeguarding.
  5. To ensure that multi-agency practice is continually supported and improved.
  6. To support the safeguarding partnership communication group, ensuring exploitation and contextual safeguarding messages to the professional and general community are co-ordinated, clear and consistent.
  7. To engage with national, regional and local experts, both individuals and organisations to inform local developments are informed by available evidence and national guidance during COVID19 and afterwards.
  8. To engage in safeguarding case review process where there are themes around exploitation and contextual safeguarding providing expert advice and support to learning.
  9. To support the quality assurance and case audit work of the safeguarding partnership in relation to exploitation and contextual safeguarding.
  10. To provide regular reports to the safeguarding manager and the SLG on risks in relation to exploitation and actions taken to mitigate those risks.
