Tradewind Social Care are currently recruiting a Senior Social Worker to join the Children, Young People and Family Services in North West London.


  • To manage a caseload of complex and challenging cases to a high standard. This includes children and young people exhibiting serious risk factors or convicted of serious offences.
  • To carry a large caseload of complex cases
  • To maintain accurate and timely recording of cases and provide reports to court, conferences, reviews and meetings using electronic recording facilities
  • To keep abreast of relevant research, knowledge and best practice in the fields of child care practice and youth justice , legislation and government guidance
  • To be conversant with essential departmental policies and procedures and government legislation as necessary to carry out the job with limited direction and support
  • To comply with all electronic purchasing and payment functions
  • To write reports to a standard satisfactory for court (YOT) To undertake supervision of children and young people convicted of serious offences


  • CQSW or post graduate Diploma in Social Work or other relevant qualification and three years' post-qualifying experience in youth justice or children and families' work; including legal proceedings, section 47 investigations and direct work with children
  • HCPC Registration
  • An understanding of the needs of vulnerable children or young people who may become involved in the youth justice system and the capacity to work in partnership with their parents.
  • The ability to work autonomously and maintain accountability while using line management supervision appropriately.
  • The ability to carry out comprehensive assessments of risk and needs of children and families within agreed time-scales and implement and review written care plans; successfully demonstrating a clear knowledge and understanding of legislative, policy and practice issues
