Synopsis: Tradewind Social Care are currently recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker for the Child Protection Team in Derby.

Main duties:

Carry out child-focused assessments of need, including investigations of suspected child abuse, working jointly with colleagues from the Department, and from other Agencies where appropriate

Develop appropriate service plans with associated procedures based upon assessed needs and eligibility criteria

Ensure the delivery of appropriate services to children and their families according to their assessed needs and service plan. This will include the rigorous implementation of eligibility criteria, and acting as Key Worker with children in need including those who are subject to Child Protection plans, as well as who are 'Looked After' by the Council. It is also likely to include giving evidence in Court Proceedings, and the provision of a range of Reports

Work consistently within the parameters of the law, departmental policies, procedures and guidelines

Attend conferences, reviews, core groups and planning meetings and produce reports in a professional and timely manner

Make case planning decisions which are consistent with the responsibilities and grading of the post

Contribute to the development of the team's Business Plan and Inspection activities as appropriate in conjunction with the Team Manager and Deputy Head of Service

Work towards the achievement of national and local performance management indicators

Maintain accurate and effective recording of information and action taken, as defined and specified by City Council policy and procedure

Work as a team member attending team meetings and making an active contribution to the development of service delivery through the sharing of knowledge, information and skills

Essential Skills & Experience needed:

Clear Enhanced DBS check

Diploma in social work or equivalent qualification

Successful completion of Assessed Year in Employment

HCPC Registered
