There is currently a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Team Manager to join a busy Children's Team (CSE) within Lancashire County Council.

The main purpose of the role is to contribute towards the achievement of objectives within the service and ensuring positive delivery of the service by managing, leading and supporting staff members effectively.

Main Duties:

Deliver a children's care service as outlined in national legislation and guidance and in line with county policies and procedures

Line manage front line staff, other agency staff and other professionals as designated, being responsible for the operation and application of all HR recruitment and employment requirements and supervision and appraisal for allocated staff

Manage a reduced workload of complex cases requiring a high degree of professional expertise

Ensure a high standard of professional practice is maintained across the service through personal example, coaching, mentoring and consultation. Provide learning opportunities to promote the professional development of staff within the service.

Provide supervision and oversight of the team's student practice placements including acting as practice educator

Ensure the provision and continuing development of high quality assessments, care planning care proceedings and reviews for individuals and ensure that high quality care plans with identified outcomes are drawn up involving children young people and their families/ carers.

Lead safeguarding investigations and contribute to ensuring the delivery of a safe child protection service

Pursue continuous improvement in the efficient use of resources and ensure appropriate performance management systems are in place, such as auditing, to promote the quality of work at individual and service level, including the effective management of complaints.

Work in partnership with children, young people parents, carers, other agencies and professionals, through effective communication and consultation networks, to ensure a co-ordinated, seamless response to and to contribute to the monitoring of the overall quality of care provided across Lancashire.

Essential Skills & experience needed:

Ability to confidently manage and lead a team to ensure a high performance service

Specialist knowledge of Children's Services

Previous experience of operating within a framework set by corporate and management teams

Ability to build positive relationships with other staff members, additional external agencies and service users

Job Requirements:
An enhanced DBS that is of satisfactory level is essential
Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience working as an Assistant Team Manager within Children's Services
