Transmission Project Officer - Cambridge (Remote Opportunity)

Do you have experience managing and developing new Pilot projects? Are you knowledgeable in the field of budgeting and project Management? We have a great opportunity to work on a government backed project.

Please note that this is a remote opportunity however there may be the requirement to be office based occasionally.

The Pilot

This is an innovative Pilot which has been funded by central government and is focused on looking at the best ways to reduce transmission of COVID_19 amongst certain workers in Fenland District Council, Peterborough City Council and South Holland District Council.

This is a partnership programme, involving a range of government departments, Public Health in Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire and three Local Authorities which would allow the successful candidate to work with a range of professionals across different services.

The Role

As a Project Officer, you will be required to contribute to effective project management across the Pilot programme, including lead responsibility for discrete projects and supporting senior officers in the council.

You will work with the Programme Manager, business change leads and various other stakeholders to implement and oversee effective programme management disciplines and delivery. You will also be required to ensure the effective and smooth flow of information to governance groups such as the Delivery Group and Programme Board.

Duties

  • Ensure the effective delivery of projects that ensure that the Enduring Transmission pilot is able to deliver its programme.
  • Ensure that objectives, agreed milestones and gateways are established and delivered to a high quality and against agreed budgets.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of project documentation including but not limited to risk and issue register.
  • Coordinate knowledge management systems covering preparation, control and recording of project and programme documents.
  • Plan for, commission and support work that allow the councils to make the most effective use of their time.
  • Ensure the effective communication and understanding of the Enduring transmission programme objectives and implementation amongst the project team.

Requirements

  • Educated to degree level, NVQ Level 4 or equivalent standard.
  • Project management qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
