Synopsis: Tradewind Social Care are currently recruiting for and experienced Transport Risk Assessor for Enfield Council.

Will be travelling on buses carrying out risk assessments on clients. The role will entail working alone with clients and providing risk assessments in a written format on a daily basis.

Main duties:

  • Passenger Transport Services have responsibility for delivering the Council's assessment of safe routes for children being transported from home to school.
  • Passenger assessment - independent advice on suitable equipment to remove or minimise the risks of manual handling to ensure safe and comfortable transfer of individuals and their equipment into a vehicle. This includes travel by air, bus, taxi and train
  • The Council's policy for home to school transport provides for children to be given free transport where the child attends the appropriate school for the area where they live, or a nearer school, and if the distance between home and school is more than 2 miles for primary aged children and 3 miles for secondary aged children.
  • In order to ensure that there is consistency in the assessment of different routes across the Borough, all assessments are made by the Risk Assessor
  • Your role will be to identify, assess, measure and report on routes to and from homes to school, throughout the Borough, in accordance with the Council Policy.
  • You will need to have experience of undertaking risk assessments and writing reports. Current understanding of road safety issues relevant to pedestrians and children would be useful.

Essential Skills & Experience needed:

  • This role involves spoken and written communication, so a confident use of English language is required.
  • You will work independently, within a small team and expected to plan your day to ensure effective time management is taken to complete the reports
  • The post holder will be expected to work an average of 36 hours per week and expected to start at 7:30am
  • The role is self-disciplined and time sensitive
  • MUST have admin experience for a local authority
